The national fair on "Bio- Future" was organised by the Golden Jubilee Biotech park for women society in association with the department of Biotechnology, GOI, Tamil nadu corporation for the development of women and MSSRF. The Hon'ble chief minister of Tamil Nadu Ms.J.Jayalalithaa delivered the inaugural address, the key note address was delivered by Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-shaw, Managing director, Bicon india limited. Dr.M.S.swaminathan delivered the special address. In this Biotech park 500 tehnologies were identified from 150 research institutions. Around 90 participants exhibited their products in 40 stalls in the exhibition.

ENVIS, Department of Environment exhibited a very attractive stall which included all Eco friendly technologies like preparing Eco friendly paper and Jute materials. Blow ups on cultivation of Euchema cottonii in the coastal belt to create employment to the coastal women, River cleaning projects, Vision 2005 of Tamil Nadu, Technology for bioremediation of lakes, Tissue culture, cultivation of herbal medicinal plants, Waste land development, Eco friendly products produced by the self help groups of the forest department were exhibited. During the Exhibition Envis brochure was circulated among the participants. The entrepreneurs and scientists showed much interest in environmental information system and the data base on biodiversity and river cleaning projects of Tamil Nadu.
