INCEPTION WORKSHOP OF PROJECT ON “MANAGEMENT AND REHABILITATION OF COASTAL HABITATS AND BIODIVERSITY FOR CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND SUSTAINABLELIVELIHOOD IN GULF OF MANNAR, TAMIL NADU, INDIA” HELD ON 25.07.2016 AT THOOTHUKUDI.

The project on Management and Rehabilitation of Coastal Habitats and Biodiversity for Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Livelihood in Gulf of Mannar, Tamil Nadu, India under the National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change sanctioned by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change was launched on 25.07.2016 at Thoothukudi and a workshop was also conducted in commemoration of launching of the project at Thoothukudi. The project was launched by the District Collector, Tuticorin Thiru M. Ravi Kumar., I.A.S. and Thiru S. Nagoor Ali Jinnah, Chief General Manager, NABARD Regional Office, Chennai inaugurated the Inception Workshop, in the presence of Dr. Jayanthi.M.,I.F.S., Additional Director, Department of Environment. The officials viz., Thiru. T.S. Dange, I.F.S.,Chief Conservator of Forests & Trust Director, Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve Trust (GoMBRT), Ramnad, Thiru. Deepak. S. Bilgi, I.F.S. Wild Life Warden, Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park, Dr. J.K.Edward Patterson, Director, SDMRI, Tuticorin, Staff of the ENVIS centre and Climate Change Cell, Department of Environment had participated in the workshop.
