As a part of Coastal Cleanup day, Chennai District National Green Corps (NGC) and Network for Fish Quality Management and Sustainable Fishing (NETFISH) jointly organized the Coastal Cleanup on 23.09.2016 in Marina Beach Chennai at 8.45 AM. Dr. H.Malleshappa., I.F.S., Director of Environment inaugurated the coastal cleanup event. The Deputy Director, Marine Products Export Development Authority(MPEDA), 140 Teacher Trainees from District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and staff of the ENVIS Centre, Department of Environment had participated in the programme.  The entire programme was coordinated by NGC District Coordinator.
