Workshop -cum -Training programme on GIS/GEO mapping programme was held on 21st to 23rd September 2017 at Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG), Gandhinagar, Gujarat attended by Ms.T.Indra Devi, Information officer and Aluri Hyma, IT Officer, ENVIS Centre. A workshop-cum training programme on GIS/GEO- mapping for ENVIS centre’s been inaugurated by Dr. Anandi Subramanian, IES., Senior Economic Advisor, MOEF & CC and staff from MOEF & CC, gave the overview of the training program. In this workshop various technical experts to trained the ENVIS staff Mr. Ashok Saxena, Economist delivered speech on climate change and other developmental activities of Gujarat, Mr. Sampath Kumar, from botanical survey of India, explained their success in the green skill development program by which the village communities are encouraged to cultivate mushroom and other employment opportunities been given for the improvement of their livelihood. Prof. T.P Singh BISAG, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat and demonstration on district data mapping by Prof T.Ramachandran, IISC gave detailed explanation on QGIS software installation and data processing.
