A capacity building workshop for the implementation of Tamil Nadu State Action Plan on Climate Change for Water Resources Sector was conducted under the Chairmanship of Dr. H.Malleshappa., I.F.S., Director, Department of Environment on 14.07.2016 at Board of Engineers Conference Hall, Public Work Department (PWD) Main Building, Chepauk, Chennai – 5. Dr.H.Malleshappa., I.F.S, Director, Department of Environment, welcomed the gathering and explained the Tamil Nadu State Action Plan on Climate Change (TNSAPCC) and implementation strategies to the participants. Er.T.Kanthimathinathan, Chief Engineer (C.E.) and Director, Institute for Water Studies (IWS) gave a detailed presentation on the Implementation of TNSAPCC strategies in Water Resources Sector by the Water Resources Department. Dr. N.K.Ambujam, Professor and Director, Centre for Water Resources (CWR), Anna University, Er. R. Ilangovan, Superintending Engineer, Water Resource Department (WRD), Dr. J. Anushiya, Research Associate, Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation Research, Anna University and Mrs. A.M.G.Smilin, Assistant General Manager, NABARD participated and explained the various impacts of water resources on climate change. Staff of the ENVIS Centre and Climate Change Cell, Department of Environment had participated in the workshop.
